A short profile of Julien Magitteri, a person of human values, president and founder of Fair/e, by Ludovic Roubaudi, novelist.
If success affirms certainties, challenges are what forge convictions. Following fifteen years as private wealth manager at HSBC Private Banking and managing partner at the private Swiss bank Bordier et Cie, Julien Magitteri has accumulated a wealth of experience necessary for the establishment of strong professional convictions.
It was, however, the overcoming of great personal challenges that strengthened him in these convictions. “In hindsight, I can say that these moments of change were a rich learning curve for me, and I realised that caring was the mother of all these values.”
To be able to share these values he created and became president of an entrepreneurial club to “bring together, impart upon and encourage” all those who wished to launch their own businesses. In the same spirit, as an elected member of a municipal council, he is in charge of the finance and general services committee of his town.
During the same period he created Fair/e: a new generation of family office. “Breaking with the traditional models that I’d been exploring for the previous 15 years, I chose to develop a more modern approach with tools better adapted to today’s needs: market volatility and the erosion of returns affect us quicker now and therefore demand a greater agility on our part, requiring that we are above all much more proactive. And to be completely independent in our choices and advice, I chose to set up a remuneration model based on fees.”
This money saving model which assures him utter independence compared to the markets, allows him to better attend to his entrepreneurial clients during the most important phases of their professional and patrimonial lives.
“I’d say that my vocation is where my talents meet the needs of my clients.”
